Lilith

Lilith"Lilith" is another project currently in development. The composition is based on the poem "Lilith" written by poet Vadim Shefner nearly six decades ago. According to legend, Lilith was Adam's first wife, who left Eden, paving the way for the creation of Eve. This intriguing narrative inspired Vadim Shefner's 1965 poem, which in turn inspired my vocal cycle "Lilith" in 2023, where legend, progress, and love are intertwined. While in the modern view, Lilith's image is often painted in dark colors, Vadim Shefner (and I in my music) primarily focus on the brighter aspects of Lilith and unfulfilled love.

I composed this music in 2023 and recorded it with the talented Canadian soprano singer, Daria Tereshchenko, in Toronto. The music draws its inspiration from the felt piano "Verve" recently made available by Steinberg, in addition to the classical symphony orchestra.
